Frequently asked questions.

  • We primarily operate remotely, with sessions held by videoconferencing. In-person sessions are available in limited circumstances.

As part of our licensing requirements, clients do need to be located in New York State during each session.

  • Individual therapy typically takes place once a week, with each session lasting about 50 minutes. The overall length of treatment can vary from person to person—there’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. Meaningful, lasting change often takes time, and therapy works best when you’re able to show up with openness and commitment.

  • Yes, I offer a free 15-minute phone/video consultation. This is a chance for us to connect, answer any questions you might have, and see if we’re a good fit before moving forward.

  • You can use my “book a consultation” button or “contact “ page to schedule a free 15 minute consultation. You can also reach out to me via email claireli@moment-psychotherapy.com

  • Yes! We are currently in network with Aetna, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare (UHC).

If we're not in network with your insurance, we can assist you in verifying your out-of-network benefits and guide you through the reimbursement process. Many clients are able to receive partial reimbursement for therapy sessions, depending on their plan.

Here are some helpful questions to ask your insurance provider:

    • Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage?

    • Can I use these benefits for telehealth sessions?

    • What is my out-of-network deductible?

    • How much of my deductible has been met this year?

    • Do I need a referral to see an out-of-network therapist?

    • How do I submit claims for reimbursement?

    • How long does it usually take to receive reimbursement?

  • A 50-minute individual therapy session is $200. If you have out-of-network benefits through your health insurance, you may be eligible for partial or full reimbursement. To check your coverage, please contact me at claireli@moment-psychotherapy.com

  • Your appointment time is reserved just for you. Because it can be difficult to fill a session on short notice, we have a firm 24-business-hour cancellation policy (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm ET). If you miss a session or don’t cancel or reschedule with at least 24 business hours’ notice, you’ll be charged the full session fee ($200).

Please kindly note: These fees are not covered by insurance, and you’re responsible for the full cost. We understand that life happens, but unfortunately, no exceptions can be made.
